Claude & Codex (MCP)

Connect WindSensei to your AI assistant and ask for good places to ride. It works with any MCP client β€” Claude (web, mobile, Desktop, Claude Code) and OpenAI Codex β€” and answers using your saved spots, activities, and wind preferences. No API key to copy: you just sign in with Google.

Connect in 30 seconds

Add WindSensei as a custom connector using this URL:

https://windsensei.com/api/mcp

When you connect, Claude opens a sign-in page β€” log in with the same Google account you use for WindSensei and approve access. That's it.

Where to add it

Claude on web & mobile

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector→ paste the URL → Connect → sign in with Google. (Custom connectors require a paid Claude plan.)

Claude Desktop

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector→ paste the URL.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http windsensei https://windsensei.com/api/mcp

OpenAI Codex

Add it to ~/.codex/config.toml:

[mcp_servers.windsensei]
url = "https://windsensei.com/api/mcp"

Then sign in:

codex mcp login windsensei

What you can ask

β€œFind good kite spots in Ontario over the next 3 days”

Region + timeframe, scored to your preferences

β€œWhere should I ride this weekend around southern Ontario?”

Narrow to a sub-region

β€œAny wingfoil-worthy wind near Toronto tomorrow?”

Filter by activity

β€œBest place to kite in the next few days?”

Quick shortlist, ranked by quality and wind

Personalized to you

Because you sign in, results are scored with your own settings β€” not generic weather:

  • Specific rideable time windows (e.g. β€œ2–6pm”) in each spot's local time
  • Wind quality based on direction for each spot
  • Your activity preferences, wind ranges, and session time windows
  • Ranked by quality, then wind strength, then soonest day

Only your own account's data is used. You can revoke access anytime from your Claude connector settings.

Try it without an account

There is a second, read-only connector that needs no sign-in at all. It covers public spots and answers questions like β€œwhat is the wind doing at Cherry Beach” or β€œkite forecast for Tarifa this week”:

https://windsensei.com/api/mcp/public

It returns live wind, gusts, direction and temperatures plus a multi-day outlook, but no personal scoring. Use the connector at the top of this page once you want results ranked against your own spots and wind ranges.
